Items Needed

Good armour, a strong weapon and plenty of food: Elvarg is level 83 and breathes fire.
For the Oracle's door: a lobster pot, an unfired bowl, silk and a wizard's mind bomb.
For the ship: 2,000 coins, 3 planks, 90 steel nails and a hammer.

Walkthrough

The Guildmaster sends you to Oziach in Edgeville, who will only sell rune platebodies to someone who has slain the dragon of Crandor. Talk to Oziach, then back to the Guildmaster for instructions.
You need three pieces of the map to Crandor, a ship, a captain and a shield against dragonfire.
Map piece 1: Melzar's Maze, north of Rimmington (the Guildmaster gives you the key). Kill the creatures inside to get the coloured keys that open each door. The piece is in a chest at the bottom, past a lesser demon.
Map piece 2: talk to the Oracle on Ice Mountain, then go to the magic door in the Dwarven Mine and use the lobster pot, the unfired bowl, the silk and the wizard's mind bomb on it. The piece is in the chest behind it.
Map piece 3: Wormbrain, the goblin in the jail of Port Sarim, has it. Pay him for it, or kill him through the bars with ranged or magic.
Shield: ask Duke Horacio in Lumbridge Castle for an anti-dragon shield.
Ship: buy the Lady Lumbridge from Klarense in Port Sarim, then repair the hole in the hull three times with a plank, 30 steel nails and your hammer each time.
Captain: Ned in Draynor Village agrees to sail the ship once you show him the full map.
Sail to Crandor, climb to the top of the island and enter Elvarg's lair. Wield the anti-dragon shield and kill Elvarg, then cut off her head.
Bring the head to Oziach in Edgeville.
